A graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles (B.A., 1985), and Southwestern University School of Law (J.D., 1993), Max Sprecher’s practice focuses on all areas of general business and entertainment litigation, including protection of talent, content creators, and distributors in the entertainment industry.

In 1992, Mr. Sprecher joined the nationally recognized entertainment litigation boutique Lavely & Singer P.C., where he spent the following seven years working on a wide variety of high-stakes and high-profile cases with and against some of the finest entertainment litigators in the country.

In 2000, Mr. Sprecher joined the entertainment litigation department at Liner Yankelevitz Sunshine & Regenstreif LLP (subsequently known as Liner LLP) as senior counsel, where he continued to represent clients in the entertainment industry.

Since launching his own firm in 2005, Mr. Sprecher has been providing expert litigation services, obtaining multi-million-dollar judgments for his clients, and doing so without the bloated overhead and costs of larger firms.

Mr. Sprecher’s experience includes cases in State and Federal courts involving general business litigation, talent/manager disputes, talent/agency disputes, profit/accounting issues, distribution disputes, financing disputes, guild residual claims, credit claims and disputes, copyright infringement, trademark infringement, idea submission disputes, trademark registrations, right of publicity, domain name and cybersquatting disputes, and defamation. He also has significant experience before the California Department of Industrial Relations and in arbitrations before the Independent Film and Television Alliance and Hollywood guilds, where he has tried numerous cases through final determinations and judgments.

More Than An Advocate

The firm’s principal, Max J. Sprecher, is not just an advocate for his clients.  Mr. Sprecher also serves as an arbitrator on the American Arbitration Association’s (AAA) Large/Complex and Consumer Arbitral Panels and the Independent Film & Television Alliance (IFTA) Arbitral Panel (now managed by the AAA-International Centre for Dispute Resolution.

Mr. Sprecher also provides mediation services across all topics and arenas.
